Frequently asked questions. If your answer isn't here, get in touch.
- Why doesn't it work on chrome:// pages?
- Chrome blocks extensions from reading its own internal pages (chrome://, the Web Store, and other restricted URLs) for security reasons. Capture works on regular http and https pages.
- Is my data ever uploaded?
- No. Capturing, stitching, and editing all happen inside your browser. There is no server, no account, and no analytics.
- How do I change the keyboard shortcut?
- Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and set any combination you like. The default is Alt+Shift+S.
- The wrong area was captured in my chat or email app. What now?
- Smart capture picks the scroll area automatically, but apps with several independent panels can be ambiguous. Open the Settings page and choose Main content only or Scrollable side panel only. Your choice is remembered for future captures.
- What are AI-friendly image parts?
- Very tall screenshots can optionally be downloaded as numbered, overlapping parts that are easier to upload to AI tools. You choose a maximum part height of 3000, 4000, or 5000 pixels, and adjacent parts share 160 pixels of overlap so text is not cut exactly at an image boundary. The complete master screenshot stays available for viewing, editing, copying, PDF export, and full download.
- Why did my pasted screenshot get smaller?
- Some apps reject extremely large pasted images. GoFullScreenshot resizes the clipboard copy automatically in that case. The downloaded or exported file keeps the full resolution.
- Why is part of a long page blank?
- Some pages load content lazily while scrolling. Scroll through the page once so everything is rendered, then capture again.
- Which formats can I export?
- Copy straight to your clipboard, download as PNG, JPEG, or WebP with adjustable quality, or export the capture as a PDF. Filenames are timestamped and customizable, and you can enable automatic download or Chrome's native Save As dialog.
