Which capture modes are available?

The compact popup lets you pick Full page, Visible area or Select area. You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Alt+Shift+S (Full page) and Alt+Shift+V (Visible area), or Option+Shift+S and Option+Shift+V on a Mac. Select area usually needs a key you set yourself, because Chrome keeps Alt+Shift+R for its Reading mode. Full-page capture scrolls and stitches the real scroll area; Select area crops to exactly what you drag.

Which full-page capture modes exist?

Smart capture detects the relevant scroll area automatically. Main content only forces the main document, and Scrollable side panel only targets an independently scrolling panel. Your choice is remembered for future captures.

Why does Chrome sometimes ask for embedded-page access?

Some websites use a non-scrolling wrapper while their real long page is loaded from another site inside an iframe. For Full page capture, GoFullScreenshot first shows the exact embedded site and asks for your approval. Nothing is granted at installation and nothing is captured until you choose Allow & capture. Access is used locally only to measure, scroll, capture, and restore that embedded page. By default it is removed after the capture, including after cancellation or failure. If you explicitly select Remember access for this site, that exact site remains available until you remove it in GoFullScreenshot Settings, Chrome's extension controls, or by uninstalling the extension.

Why does Chrome say "This extension is not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing"?

This warning is generated by Google Chrome's Enhanced Safe Browsing system. It does not mean that GoFullScreenshot has been identified as unsafe or malicious.

Google explains that extensions from newer developers may temporarily display this warning while the developer builds trust and history in the Chrome Web Store. According to Google, it generally takes a few months for new developers to become trusted.

GoFullScreenshot is distributed through the official Chrome Web Store. Screenshot capture, stitching and editing are performed locally in your browser.

The Enhanced Safe Browsing trust status is controlled by Google and cannot be manually removed or overridden by the extension developer.

What can I do in the quick-edit dock?

The result opens with Pen, Highlight, Text, Shapes, Blur, Pixelate, Redact, and Crop directly available. Changes stay local and are applied only when you choose Apply.

Which formats and sizes can I export?

Copy to the clipboard, or export as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Export scale can be set to 0.5x, 1x, or 2x.

How does the local history work?

History is off until you choose it. Before your first popup-started capture you get an explicit choice: Keep 10 locally is the recommended option, and Not now leaves history off. An update never silently enables it for existing users. Records live only in your browser in IndexedDB, with a retention limit between 1 and 20 completed captures, oldest items removed first. Nothing is uploaded, and you can delete individual items, clear everything, or turn history off.

What does Copy diagnostic info share?

It only runs after you click it in Settings, and it only copies text to your local clipboard. It is never uploaded or sent automatically. The text can contain UTC time, extension version, release profile, installation type, browser, platform, architecture, browser language, screen size, DPR, reduced-motion status, relevant local settings, the downloads permission status, the number of granted HTTP(S) origin patterns, and only the count and total size of retained captures. It never contains page URLs or titles, screenshot pixels, captured page content, filenames, notes, templates, project names, origin names, or record-level metadata. It reaches support only if you paste the text yourself.

What is version 1.9.60?

Version 1.9.60 is the current Stable release of the Free extension in the Chrome Web Store. The public package contains no Pro controls, no Pro automation, no batch capture, no account, and no payment. Professional workflow automation is being developed; pricing and a release date have not been set. Core Free features and access to your captures stay Free.

Can I buy GoFullScreenshot Pro today?

No. Pro is built and in final testing. It is not available yet and cannot be bought. There is no checkout on this website and no payment method is collected anywhere. The Pro page lists what Pro adds. Core Free features and access to your captures stay Free.

Does it work in Microsoft Edge?

Yes. GoFullScreenshot is a Chromium extension and the current build is tested in Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. Install it in Edge through the Chrome Web Store listing; a separate Edge Add-ons listing is not published yet.

Which pages cannot be captured?

Chrome blocks extensions on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, the Developer Dashboard, and pages belonging to other extensions. GoFullScreenshot does not try to bypass that protection. Capture works on regular http and https pages, and on local files only when you enable Chrome's separate Allow access to file URLs switch.

Can I capture a local file on my computer?

Only if you choose to allow it. file:///* is an optional capability, not an install-time permission. It works after you enable Chrome's separate Allow access to file URLs switch for GoFullScreenshot and then explicitly capture the local file you are viewing. Directly opened local HTML supports Full page, Visible area and Select area. Other browser-rendered local formats are not currently guaranteed, and Chrome's protected local PDF viewer supports Visible area only. GoFullScreenshot never enumerates folders, scans your device, opens unrelated files, runs on files in the background, or uploads file content. If you keep optional History on, a record can retain that local file:// path on your device only.

Is my data ever uploaded?

No. Capturing, stitching, editing, export, settings, and optional history all stay inside your browser. The extension has no backend, no account, and no analytics, and it never sends screenshots, page content, URLs, settings, or local history. This separate website is described in the Privacy Policy.

Which keyboard shortcuts can I use?

Chrome suggests Alt+Shift+S for Full page and Alt+Shift+V for Visible area on Windows, Linux and ChromeOS, and Option+Shift+S (⌥⇧S) and Option+Shift+V (⌥⇧V) on macOS. Chrome assigns a key only when it is free, so another extension may already use it. Select area usually has no key, because Chrome keeps Alt+Shift+R for its own Reading mode. Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts to check your keys and set any combination you like, for example Alt+Shift+E for Select area.

The wrong area was captured in my chat or email app. What now?

Smart capture picks the scroll area automatically, but apps with several independent panels can be ambiguous. Open the Settings page and choose Main content only or Scrollable side panel only. Your choice is remembered for future captures.

Why did my pasted screenshot get smaller?

Clipboard copies keep the original resolution by default. If another app rejects very large images, you can explicitly enable Shrink very large screenshots when copying in Settings; only that clipboard copy is reduced above roughly 25 megapixels, while downloads keep their selected resolution.

When will GoFullScreenshot ask for a review?

The popup has a manual review button that opens the public Chrome Web Store review page. After the third successful capture, a voluntary support dialog may appear; it asks for an honest review and welcomes positive as well as critical feedback. There is no reward, feature unlock, sentiment filter, five-star steering, or obligation, and no feature depends on a review. It closes with X, Escape, or the background. Automatic prompts are capped at three per prompt version, and after dismissal at least seven days and five new successful captures must pass before it can appear again. After the review link is opened there is a local 90-day cooldown. Chrome offers no API to determine whether a review was written, so nothing is checked. The review link sends no screenshot, URL, settings, or counter data.

Why is part of a long page blank?

Some pages load content lazily while scrolling. Scroll through the page once so everything is rendered, then capture again.
